₹45,000 pension at every fitment factor

The range is wide because the factor is unknown. At the low-end media estimate of 1.92, the gain over today's ₹72,000 is only ₹14,400 a month; at 2.86 it is ₹56,700; at the staff-side demand of 3.833 it is ₹1,00,485. Any factor below 1.60 would leave a ₹45,000 pensioner with less than today, because the 60% DR is expected to be merged into the new basic.
Worked example: ₹45,000 at a factor of 2.57
- Pension today: ₹45,000 basic + 60% DR (₹27,000) = ₹72,000 a month.
- New basic pension: ₹45,000 × 2.57 = ₹1,15,650 (rounded up to the next rupee).
- DR after revision: assumed to restart at 0%, as after the 6th and 7th CPC, so the new total is ₹1,15,650.
- Monthly gain: ₹1,15,650 − ₹72,000 = ₹43,650 (about 61%).
- Later DR instalments would be added on ₹1,15,650 from the first DR order after revision.
Aged 80 or more? Additional pension of 20% is added before DR. Today that makes ₹45,000 + ₹9,000 + DR ₹32,400 = ₹86,400. At 2.57 it would be ₹1,15,650 + ₹23,130 = ₹1,38,780. Higher slabs apply at 85, 90, 95 and 100.
Estimated arrears on ₹45,000 pension
The site assumes the revision takes effect from January 2026 (the Government said that is "normally expected" from past practice; it is not decided) and that the new pension is first paid in October 2027. That gives 21 months of arrears, January 2026 to September 2027. On ₹45,000, arrears would be about ₹9,16,650 at 2.57, ₹3,02,400 at 1.92 and ₹21,10,185 at 3.833, before tax. If DR rises again before implementation, today's total goes up and arrears come down. Change both dates in the main calculator.
If you commuted 40% of ₹45,000
Commuting 40% means a fixed deduction of ₹18,000 a month until restoration after 15 years. DR is still paid on the full ₹45,000, so today the credit is ₹72,000 − ₹18,000 = ₹54,000 (before Fixed Medical Allowance and tax). In the 7th CPC revision the full pension was multiplied and the deduction stayed at the same rupee amount (DoPPW OM 04.08.2016). If that repeats, the credit at 2.57 would be ₹1,15,650 − ₹18,000 = ₹97,650, and the full ₹1,15,650 once the commuted part is restored. Details: commutation calculator.
Family pension after a ₹45,000 pension
Normal family pension is 30% of the employee's last pay, not of the pension. If ₹45,000 was 50% of a last pay of ₹90,000, the family pension would be ₹27,000 a month today, or ₹43,200 with 60% DR. At 2.57 that becomes ₹69,390 (range ₹51,840 to ₹1,03,491). For a limited period the enhanced rate of 50% of last pay — the full ₹45,000 — may apply instead. Use the family pension calculator with the exact last pay from the PPO.
Who gets a ₹45,000 pension?
A pensioner who retired after 1 January 2016 with at least 10 years' qualifying service gets 50% of last pay (or of the average of the last 10 months' pay, if that is higher). So ₹45,000 is typically the pension of someone whose last basic pay was about ₹90,000. For someone who retired before 2016, ₹45,000 usually means a 6th CPC pension of about ₹17,510 that was multiplied by 2.57 in 2016. If you are not sure, the basic pension finder works it out from your bank credit or PPO.
