Effective date: 28 October 2026. This policy explains what information is and is not processed when you use this website (the "Site").
1. Information you enter in the calculator
The calculator runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. The values you enter — basic pension, age, pension type, fitment factor, DR and months — are processed on your own device and are not sent to our server or to anyone else. When you press "Calculate", the values are added to the address bar of your browser (for example ?bp=20000&ff=2.57) so that you can bookmark or share the result. That link is only shared if you choose to share it.
2. Information stored on your device
If you switch between English and Hindi, your language choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the Site remembers it next time. It contains only the word "en" or "hi". You can clear it at any time from your browser settings. Apart from the Google Analytics cookies described in section 4, we do not set tracking cookies.
3. Server logs
The Site is hosted on Vercel. Like every web host, Vercel may automatically process technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request, for security, abuse prevention and to deliver the Site. This processing is governed by Vercel's own privacy policy. We do not use these logs to identify individual visitors.
4. Analytics
The Site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit and which pages and calculators are useful. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) and collects information like pages viewed, approximate location (city/country), device and browser type, and how the visitor arrived. It does not receive the values you type into the calculator. IP addresses are not logged or stored by Google Analytics 4. You can block it with your browser's cookie settings, a content blocker, or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
5. Advertising
The Site may in future display advertisements through Google AdSense to cover running costs. If that happens:
- Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google's Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) or at www.aboutads.info.
- This policy will be updated, and a consent notice shown where required, before ads are enabled.
6. Sharing buttons
The "Share on WhatsApp" button simply opens WhatsApp (wa.me) with a pre-filled message containing your result link. Nothing is sent until you choose to send it in WhatsApp, and WhatsApp's own privacy policy then applies. The "Download result" button creates a text file on your device; nothing is uploaded.
7. Email
If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to fix any problem you report, and we do not sell or share it. Please do not send PPO numbers, bank details, Aadhaar or other sensitive documents — we do not need them.
8. Children
The Site is meant for adults and does not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Security
The Site is served over HTTPS with security headers that restrict which scripts can run. Since no personal data is collected, there is very little that could be exposed. Beware of imitation websites or apps that ask for OTPs or bank details in the name of an "8th Pay Commission calculator"; report them to the national cybercrime helpline 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in.
10. Your rights
Because we do not keep personal data from the calculator, there is usually nothing to access or delete. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, write to us and we will do so. Indian users have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and we will honour any valid request.
11. Changes
We may update this policy, for example if advertising or analytics are added. The effective date at the top will change when we do.
