What pensioners should expect next

The Commission may send interim reports if it chooses, but its final report is due around May 2027. Past experience suggests that implementation follows a few months after the report: the 7th CPC reported in November 2015, the Cabinet approved it in June 2016, and revised pensions with arrears from 1 January 2016 were paid later that year. Meanwhile, Dearness Relief continues to be revised twice a year under the 7th CPC formula, so the July 2026 and January 2027 instalments still matter for your current pension and for any arrears calculation.
